The weather outside may not be tennis-friendly, but that didn’t stop some enthusiastic wheelchair tennis participants and coaches from getting a taste of the sport this week. Bridging the Gap and Parasport PEI hosted a Wheelchair Tennis Have a Go Day at Stonepark Intermediate School in Charlottetown on February 9th.
Coach Will Connolly introduced the athletes to the basics of serving and rallying and everyone took part in a fun scrimmage. The winter Have a Go Day is a lead-up to a full summer program, which will be held in Victoria Park once the weather is better. No experience is required for the summer program and equipment can be provided for those who do not have any.
If you’d like to get involved in the summer program, contact Cathleen MacKinnon at 902-368-4540 or firstname.lastname@example.org
