Wheelchair Sports Alberta, through our Bridging the Gap Program, is seeking interested participants for a start-up developmental wheelchair fencing program in Alberta. Wheelchair fencing is a sport for disabled athletes that is governed by the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation and the International Paralympic Committee and is one of the sports played in the Summer Paralympic Games.
The 3 Classifications for Wheelchair Fencing
• class A (athletes with full trunk movement and good balance)
• class B (athletes with no leg movement and impaired trunk and balance functions)
• class C (athletes with a disability in all four limbs)
