If you’ve ever wanted to try wheelchair athletics, come out to the BC Wheelchair Sports Winter Athletics Clinic at the Richmond Olympic Oval on Sunday, March 1st. This is a rare opportunity to try wheelchair athletics in a fun, supportive environment while also getting to interact with national team athletes.
There are two great opportunities to get involved:
10:30 am – noon: Junior Have a Go: Children age 5 and up are invited to wheelchair racing and wheelchair throws. Come out for a fun day of mini races, mini throws competitions and more! This program will be run in conjunction with the Let’s Play program, BC Wheelchair Basketball Society and BC Athletics. Able-bodied friends and siblings are welcome. All equipment is provided.
1:00 – 3:30 pm: Wheelchair Racing and Seated Throws Have a Go: Come watch elite wheelchair racers and throwers train, then try the sports for yourself. This session is geared towards adults, though junior athletes are welcome to participate.
