Since 1997, Bridging the Gap: Getting Physically Active has helped thousands of Canadians with physical disabilities experience the life-changing benefits of wheelchair sports. We believe that every Canadian deserves access to physical activity, whether they want to play recreationally or have Paralympic aspirations. From Have a Go Days to wheelchair loans, we’ll do whatever it takes to help people with disabilities discover their new favourite wheelchair sport.
Bridging the Gap: Getting Physically Active is a non-profit organization with the mission to help Canadians with disabilities get physically active. We are made up of Program Coordinators throughout Canada, who administer first-contact wheelchair sports events. What started as an innovative program in British Columbia in 1998 has grown by leaps and bounds into a national phenomenon. We now offer Have a Go Days in all provinces across Canada.
